Serial ATA (SATA) III is a speed of 6Gbps. It provides up to 500mA for a downstream port and supports charger detection. The charging functionality is very similar to a host charger. 3. Dedicated Charger : A charger that offers power via USB interface, but doesn't provide a list of the device. The charging capacity is restricted to 1.5A.The specification also permits dead battery charging, which allows batteries that are dead or extremely vulnerable battery to use upto 100mA from the hub host until it is charged up to an acceptable amount. The advantage of being able to charge over USB will continue to be utilized in USB 3.0 devices.
